What is Briteskills?
It is a utility that allows anyone to learn any skills from anyone at prices set by the tutor. It is a network of experts and learners. Skills range from baking, investment tips, playing guitar, programming e.t.c.
Who is eligible to register as a teacher?
Anyone good enough in any skill e.g marketing, baking, swimming, investment coaching
How much does it cost to register on briteskills?
Registration on is free for all tutors and students. However, to learn, you are required to pay the fees charged by the tutors for respective lessons. A 10% fee is charged on all successfully paid fees. We encourage tutors to set affordable fees which usually range from Kshs 500 - 10,000 ($5 - $100) depending on the skill to be learnt

How to register
Simple Registration
- On the top right hand click on the Sign Up Link
- On the registration page enter:
- Your first name
- Your last name.
- Mobile Phone
- Password
- Repeat your password
- Click on the button "Accept and Submit"
- Upon registration, an email is sent to you with the next steps to follow, which are:
- Complete your teacher profile.
- Search our list of student wish list for a list of lessons that students would want to be taught.
Registration with facebook
- You can also register using your Facebook profile. (if you have a Facebook account).
- You will be rediected immediately to your new profile.
Complete your profile
- Your profile is partially complete when you register. A green Completeness Meter is indicated on your profile under your profile picture.
- To Complete your profile you must be logged in to your profile.
- Click on Your Name at the top right hand side and on the drop down menu, select Account Settings.
- On the right hand side select Edit Profile from the menu.
- On the Profile Settings page, complete the following:
- Your Mobile Phone(if you had not filled it).
- Your Country
- Your City
- Your Zone
- Your Physical Address
- Your Occupation
- Your Biography(About Me)
- Your profile picture
- Your Website
- Your Facebook Link
- Your Twitter handle
About Your Profile
How to create a lessons- Click on this to create a new lesson that you will teach others
- Then click the big green button "Create a Lesson Now"
Lesson title(Required)
make this as descriptive as possible. This is important for searches.
Which skills be learnt.(Required)
skills could be cooking, programming, science, math e.t.cDescribe your lesson.(Required)
Briefly describe the lesson that you teach( or will teach). You can use simple HTML tags for formatting including:
- h3 for heading e.g. <h3>word</h3>
- h4 for heading e.g. <h3>word</h3>
- h5 for heading e.g. <h3>word</h3>
- br for creating new lines e.g.
City/Town(Required)
Select from the drop-down list the town or city in which the lesson will be located. This is usually your residential town.
Location(Optional)
Type in the specific location where you will(or do) conduct the lessons. This could be a restaurant, office, boardroom or classroom
Picture(Optional)
Include a picture to improve the likability of the lesson. Visit www.iconfinder.com for free images. Use large images for clarity. MORE.
Number of Students(Optional)
Indicate the number of students that you can teach.
Lesson Starts On(Optional)
Indicate this if the lesson will be offered on a definate period. Leave blank if the lesson will be recurring.
Lesson Ends On(Optional)
Indicate this if the lesson will be offered on a definate period. Leave blank if the lesson will be recurring.
Price (Kshs – Optional)
Indicate the price you expect to be paid by each student. Please be as fair as you can to avoid scaring away your students. On average keep your rates below KES 2,000.
Lesson image is important as it acts as the lasting message in the students who search for them.
It is advisabel to use large images, preferably 128-256 pixels in width and heigh
To upload an image:
- Click upload button on the page and select the chosen image from your computer or mobile and click OK or Select.
- Finish by clicking submit.
- Click on Your Name at the top right hand side and on the drop down menu, select Account Settings.
- On the right hand side select Edit Password from the menu.
- on the password settings page, enter your current password, the new password and a confirmation of the current password.
- Please choose unique password that is not easy to guess.
- If you have forgotten your password click Recover Password Page.
- Enter the email you use for login.
- A link will be sent to this email with details on what to do next.
- This will present you with a safe form where you can enter your new password. The link expires after 3days for security reasons.
- Click on Your Name at the top right hand side and on the drop down menu, select Account Settings.
- On the right hand side select Edit Profile from the menu.
- On the Profile Settings page, complete the following:
- Your Mobile Phone(if you had not filled it).
- Your Country
- Your City
- Your Zone
- Your Physical Address
- Your Occupation
- Your Biography(About Me)
- Your profile picture
- Your Website
- Your Facebook Link
- Your Twitter handle
Notifications will be sent to your email, when:
- A student requests a quote or further details.
- A colleague recommends to you a lesson.
How to login

- On the login page enter:
- Your email address
- Your password
- If you have forgotten your password click on the "forgot password link".
- You can also login using your Facebook profile(if you have a Facebook account)
About the Lessons
All the lessons listed on Briteskills are properties of their tutors. Students can search, view and book a lesson. If specified by the tutor, the students have to pay the price listed.
How to find lessons
If you are a learner there are two ways to look up for lessons:
Search Box:
- On the home page click on the search box in the middle of the page.
- On other pages click on the searchbox at the top.
- Type in the prefered lessons/courses that you want to learn. Please use strong keywords such as piano, cooking, physics etc for better search results. Our search is designed to be specific to avoid returning a bunch of un-needed results.
The Categories list:
- Click on one of the categories to find a list of lessons under it.
Planning a lesson
As a student you reserve the right to arrange lessons according to your calendar.
If a teacher sets the lesson time and date, please adhere to that.
Lessons Page
If you find a suitable lesson, click on it to view more about it.
The lesson page includes:
On the left hand side:
- The title
- The picture
- The skills to be learnt
- The category under which the lesson belongs
- A description of the lesson
- Views of former students about the lesson
On the right hand side:
- The price, town and location where it will be taught
- The teacher and his/her profile picture
- The teacher's profile details
Reviews
Students are allowed to post comments on lesson pages as well as on teacher profile pages. These comments, powered by Disqus are important in help the public to police against poor, fake or inexperienced teacher.
To post a comment, simply focus on the comments textbox
Notifications
Notifications will be sent to your email, when:
- A student requests a quote or further details.
- A colleague recommends to you a lesson.
Sharing to friends
If a you like a lesson or finds it suitable for a friend, you can click on Suggest to Friends button to display a form in which you will enter the emails, separated by commas
Contacting the tutor
As a student you can, if you want more information about a lesson, send an email notification to the tutor through our email system. We do not explicitly display users' emails for privacy.
